About Jon

I am a web/multimedia developer. I'm originally from New York City, now living across the Hudson in Jersey City. My work has helped power digital signage at the New York Stock Exchange and MLB Store, prime time television ads for Lucille Roberts, and both websites and content management systems for businesses and artists. I am proficient in front-end development (HTML + CSS + modern JavaScript) as well as multimedia creation and editing, and I acquire and apply new skills quickly. I have had the pleasure of working with many talented designers, art directors, and back-end developers, but enjoy a challenge and can be self-sufficient as well.

Birthday Fun

Yesterday was my birthday. I relaxed (for once) and hung out with my fam. I went bowling and ate mad ribs and honey wings at BBQs. My mom made me a chocolate chip cake, and all was right in the world. Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes by phone, email, and MySpace. The most important gift I’ve received in my 23 years are all the great people who I’ve met along the way, and no matter how anti-social I seem at times , it means a lot to have you all around. Thanks for 23 years of memories and hopefully many more to come….

…and MONEY!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY!!! I GOT BILLS TO PAY!!!

Ups and Downs

So the last week or so has had good news and bad news. The good news is that i had a great production showcase at Red Bank High School in New Jersey, sponsored by RockyPresents and NJSlam. The bad news is that my laptop ceased to power up the next day. I guess it’s like they say, gotta spend money to make money.

Life is kicking my butt right now, but for anyone who gets the quote, “Can’t rain all the time.”

Technology Sucks Part 3

Why me?

Once again, my laptop, in its infinite wisdom, has decided to betray me. Once again, my power supply is acting up, giving me on again, off again charge. I know how to fix it, but I have one stripped screw preventing me from opening my computer (which I have been told how to circumvent). Just another day in the life of everyone’s favorite animator!

Disconnected

Phoenix couldn’t phone home.

In fact, I was pretty much silenced for 5 days. My cell service had been accidentally been terminated, which posed an interesting situation. While I enjoyed the serenity of my phone not ringing, I do have work to do and people being unable to reach me doesn’t help. However, the break from constant travel and meetings helped me have more time to actually work. And as projects wind down, I look forward to an ever-elusive vacation. Til’ then, Phoenix keeps toiling.

On another note, as some may have noticed I recently redesigned my site. One of the things I added was an archive of all my blogs, and reading them made me realize that I need to bring back to humor to these things. You won’t know when the bad jokes will strike, but they will! So stay tuned…
